OpenTimestamps

An open standard that timestamps data against the Bitcoin blockchain, without any coins or accounts.

OpenTimestamps proves a piece of data existed at or before a certain time by committing its fingerprint into the Bitcoin blockchain. It uses the blockchain purely as a public, tamper-resistant clock — there is no token, no wallet, and no cost to the person verifying.

Attesian submits each daily Merkle root to OpenTimestamps calendars and later upgrades the proof into its Bitcoin-anchored form. The result is an independent timestamp that does not depend on Attesian staying online or honest — 'no crypto' for the user, real cryptographic assurance underneath.
